Performance enhancement of direct torque control induction motor drive using space vector modulation strategy

Purpose. The main objective of this work is to demonstrate the advantages brought by use space vector modulation technique in direct torque control induction motor. To achieve purpose, two different approaches (with modulation) are proposed and studied from a comparative aspect with each other conventional control. novelty consists employment an Integral-Proportional (IP) speed controller more in-depth evaluation for their performance mainly switching frequency inverter semiconductor components motor ripples. Methods. Two that strategy and/or fuzzy-logic control, described detail simulated IP controller. simulation experiments carried out using Matlab/Simulink software tools. Results. Practical value. Comparison results show structures exhibit large reduction ripples can also avoid random variation problem (over wide range or control). On hand, regulator ensured good dynamic drive system as well considerably minimized peak overshoot response. Practically all these benefits achieved while retaining simplicity best characteristics classical especially modified approach which design implementation requires minimal computational effort.
